The new government still needed to fight against their eternal enemy – the Mongolian army, so building more Great Wall sections were very necessary.

After rebuilding and repairing, the Mutianyu Great Wall is 5,400 meters (3.6 miles) long. It is adjacent to the Gubeikou section to the east and Juyongguan to the west.
